About me & about this blog
This blog is a place where you can read the empty thoughts of a 19 year old pseudo-intellectual.
About me…
As a particulary egocentric human being I am going to start with myself. I am raised in post-communist Eastern Europe (Bulgaria to be precise) and currently studying and living in the so-called democratic Northern Europe (Denmark). Nowadays it’s hard for me to qualify what democracy really means, because I see a lot of countries calling themselves democratic, but for me they look more like an improved version of the communist society that I once lived in. So now is the time to bring up my sensibility when it comes to politics, mainly because I was raised in a very fast changing society that moved from it’s Russian communism regime, to a wrong put democracy and then went back to socialism in XXI century Europe.
A liberal, naive idealist, that still believes in such things as democracy, freedom of the choice, social equality and tolerance.
A person that never trusts, before examining every single aspect that seems unclear for me. Someone with urgently growing need to question everyone and everything around me. I don’t put my trust neither in the Government nor in the economy. The only person that I trust is myself, and sometimes, Bill Hicks, mainly because he is one of the few commedians that can make me laugh and cry in the same time (may he rest in peace). I don’t believe in the definition of “good politician” mainly because I do know people enough well to realize that there is no such thing – I’ve seen good people going in politics. I don’t know them anymore – I mean the good people, I do know the political figures. Power corrupts and people are not that strong to resist it. And yes, I don’t trust Obama, like I wouldn’t have trust McCain or Clinton.
I was baptized orthodox Christian, because I was raised in such family, but I questioned my religion for too long, and after all gave up on it. I’ve read and studied enough when it comes to religion – not only Christianity, but also Islam and Judaism, alongside with some other philosophies such as Buddism and Hinduism. I ended up realizing that religion is only a tool of manipulating the masses – most of those religions are covered with too much blood in order to make me put my blind belief in them. And despite of my religious views I can’t either prove or disprove the exsitance of God, so when it comes to this matter I decided to follow my principle of not trying to talk about something that I don’t know anything about. So when it comes to beliefs it could be said that I believe in quantum physics. This is me – I need a prove for everything.
Unlike some people I am not tempted by the materialistic goods – I don’t need much to be happy. Actually the only reason that I am aiming to earn more money is in order to spend them on traveling and investing them in my education. One of my biggest passions was, is and always will be traveling. Luckily for me I already have a solid background of visited places – traveled 2/3 of Western and Northern Europe and spend one month in the US years ago. I would like to walk again to some of the places that I already visited, but for years I am mostly tempted to visit the ex-socialistic European countries, the Middle East (especially the Middle East!), the Far East, African countries that went trough war, Russia, without the glamour of Moscow, the golden triangle (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos) and so on. So now I am seriously considering of signing as a volunteer for some NGO, dealing with Africa and Middle East – at least I will get rid of the people moaning about this world economy crisis.
I am a humanist – I do give a damn what’s going on in this world and who is paying the price of a life they didn’t order. I do feel hate, anger, but every time I try to melt down those feelings with some positivism.
I always say to myself that I was raised in interesting times and still live in such once. This is my view upon the bright side of life.
And when it comes to the blog…
Here you will read my thoughs on politics, social issues and comments on news. Also I will put everything that I find interesting – art, design, music, cinema etc. etc. This blog will represent my interests in general.
I am Bianka and everybody who is willing to comment is welcome to do so.
Just found your blog from Alexandru’s. Interesting thoughts you had about Denmark – I have lived here for 3 years and experienced all the things you wrote about.
You’re doing well with your blog; and you’re doing even better not to trust Obama. He’s systematically destroying America, villifying everthing good here.
Thank you for your views.
Thanks Steve
And about Obama – I never really trusted this whole theater that was pulled off during the US elections.
Theater it was for sure Bianka. I read in your statement that you don’t exactly trust government. You’re very wise to do so. Of course here in the U.S. there are those left-leaning Americans that trust those in government to take care of them from the cradle to the grave.
The thing about America’s “founding fathers” was for all Americans to have freedom to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. That wasn’t a gurantee that all would obtain happiness, but simply have the freedom to pursue it.
Many people here don’t realize this fact: the more government control … the less freedoms the people have. Of course there need to be laws, etc. But to have the government controlling every aspect of our lives is not freedom.
Anyway, I’m terribly sorry to ramble on, and I should never have intruded on your blog. I hope you and yours have a great week.
